Cát Bà lies on the same waters as Halong Bay; the waters contain the same jutting rock formations as Halong Bay. Being less touristy than it's famous neighbor comes with it's own fair of attractions. There's swimming in the sea, motorbiking through mountainous hills, renting boats for a day or two, and enjoying seafood on floating restaurants. I enjoyed it so much I came back a second time for New Years celebrations.
